How to make Menu links make page scroll

    Hello,

I just finished installing the theme! Unfortunately i was not able to import the Demo theme (it would've made my life a lot easier) because of a low "max_execution_time" limit that i cannot change.

Anyway i would like for my site to be a one-page site. Meaning that the about us, the contact us, and any other sections would be in one page. When a client clicks the menu bar links the page should automatically scroll down towards the related section. Is this doable? I was not able to find any example of this in the demos.

Please if someone could walk me through this it would be great! Thanks.

    Hi Kevin,

That's a bummer that you cannot change the "max_execution_time"!

But don't worry though about the scrolling menu items, that's pretty easy to do at least. All you need to do is two steps:

    1) In your menu (Appearance > Menus ) you will need to add the item that you want to scroll via a 'Custom Links' menu item.

Then all you need to do is add the URL and assign an ID to the URL. Because you are using a one-page site you can do it like this:

e.g. The menu item is called About Us (Navigation Label), so the URL the ID I have given is similar:

    http://frontpage_url/#about

    and hit save.

    2) Then in your page, via Visual Composer editor, go to the row where you want the menu to scroll to and in the Row settings add in the ID:

    about

    and save the page.

Hit refresh on the live page and click the About Us menu item and it will scroll to that part on the page :)

There should also be some more info about this in the documentation that comes with the download zip in your Themeforest download area should you need more help with it

    :)

    Kind regards,
    Joanna
