Anyone ever shipped a heavy trike?

My trike is wide and has custom mods. Do I need a special carrier, or can standard motorcycle haulers handle it? I’m looking for an accurate estimate that won't change on pickup day.

Shipping a heavy trike is definitely a different beast because of that wider wheelbase—most standard bike racks just won't cut it. You’ll need a carrier with a flatbed or a specialized wide-ramp trailer to handle the extra footprint and custom mods safely. To get an estimate that actually sticks, I’d suggest using motorcycle transport services to find a driver who specifically deals with oversized or three-wheeled loads. Make sure you provide the exact dimensions (width is key!) and weight upfront so there are no "surprise" fees when the driver sees the trike at pickup. In 2026, many specialized haulers even offer lift-gate loading to keep those custom parts from scraping.
