I'm building a website with the north theme and I would like to know what the ideal size is for background of each section on the theme. It seems no matter what size I try there's always some kind of bars either on top or at the sides, and I want to display the whole image, not just cropped in to fill.
Unfortunately, there is no ideal size as there are so many different sized screens -desktops, laptops and mobiles (and displaying horizontal and vertical).
For desktops at the moment you can use 1920x1080 as that is the normal size for HD resolution. Otherwise it is up to you to style and make the image display as you see fit

Good point! If your background or slides in the North theme look cropped or show black bars on the top or sides, it might not just be an image size issue, it could also be a screen scaling or display check problem https://geo-peek.com/backlight-bleed-test/. Try using a screen test tool (like a black screen or white screen test) to make sure your monitor’s resolution and scaling are set correctly before adjusting the image size. That way, you’ll know if the issue comes from the theme or your display itself.

Thanks, that's true. What would go a long way in helping me is telling me how to delete the 100px padding around all of the rows.
Hi Kevin,
You can change the padding within the page editor via the Row Settings > Design Options tab.
Just add the px value to the padding boxes that you want to change
Kind regards,
Joanna
