Just change the word portfolio to a word that you want.
Then save, upload and replace the file via FTP/Hosting control panel.
Next, go into your WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks
Make sure 'Post name' or 'Custom structure' are selected.
Hit the save button.
(note that you must hit the save button even if one of those options are already selected. This tells WordPress that that it needs to refresh the permalinks and that you have a new slug for portfolio that it needs to check)

You can change the word 'portfolio' slug by editing this file:
\wp-content\plugins\crexis-core\custom-post-types\portfolio\portfolio-functions.php
on line 19 where it says:
